At the invitation of the team from the European Schoolnet, which coordinates the Better Internet for Kids Platform on behalf of the European Commission, the Foundation Open Society -Macedonia organized consultative sessions to gather the opinion of various stakeholders on their priorities for promotion, protection, respect and enjoyment of children’s rights in the digital world. The purpose of these consultations was to ask children and young people about the opportunities, challenges and potential risks they face online, but also to give EU policymakers a clearer picture of the steps being taken to ensure that the Digital Decade will be suitable for all children and young people in Europe.

A total of 41 students (elementary, high school students, Roma students and children with special educational needs as well as 8 parents) participated in 3 online and 2 counselling sessions with a physical presence which were organized by a primary school (“Hristijan Karpos” from the village Dragomance, Municipality of Staro Nagoricane) and 3 civil society organizations (Resource Center for parents of children with special needs, the Center for educational support Dendo Vas and the Youth Educational Forum – Skopje.

The contribution of the participants became part of the report “How to make the Decade of Digital Europe suitable for children and young people?” and is available at https://www.betterinternetforkids.eu/digitaldecadereport
