One of the most common problems faced by the citizens of Tetovo is traffic chaos. Despite the introduction of the solution zone parking, free parking spaces are difficult to find. Due to this situation, everyone parks wherever they want. On the one hand, the municipality does not provide enough parking space and on the other hand, if the drivers park incorrectly, they are expressly fined.
On the two main boulevards in Tetovo, “Ilirija” and “Ilindenska”, the traffic takes place on half of the lane due to the parked vans, taxis and other vehicles in the last lane, which increases the traffic congestion in these streets. In addition to the lack of parking lots, a big problem is the negligence of some drivers, who, for example, park for years on the pedestrian zone on the square.
Traffic police do not take action on incorrectly parked vehicles on sidewalks or double-parked vehicles. Therefore, their role was taken over by a group of activists from Tetovo who placed “parking tickets” on poorly parked vehicles in order to increase the awareness of drivers and with an appeal to pay attention to the safety of citizens and pedestrians whose spaces are usurped by illegally parked vehicles.
In addition to the warnings, the activists placed acknowledge notes on those vehicles that are properly parked in order to support and point put the conscientious drivers.
If you are in Tetovo, be careful where you park, the group of activists is following you and will “fine” you.
The action was completed without any direct contact of the members of the group, i.e. it was prepared in stages and sequentially by different activists.
