According to the new Law on Free Legal Aid, the Regional Departments are authorized to decide on the procedure for requesting secondary assistance and to provide primary legal aid that they provide to all citizens.

In order for the employees in the Regional Departments of the Ministry of Justice to acquire knowledge and skills to improve their services and to provide greater accessibility for drug users and sex workers, on June 10, 11 and 14, 2021, a training was held to improve staff skills for working with marginalized groups.

The training, which was attended by a total of 16 employees from the Regional Departments of the Ministry of Justice, is part of the project “Access to Justice for the Most Marginalized Groups”, and was realized in cooperation with the Council of Europe and the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association.

The project “Access to Justice for the Most Marginalized Groups” is implemented by the Open Society Foundation – Macedonia, HOPS-Options for Healthy Life Skopje and the Association for Legal Education and Transparency – PET Station, funded by the European Union.
