In order to emphasize the need for involvement of all stakeholders – state institutions, school administration, teachers, professional service and parents, in providing prevention of mental health from an early age, but also for timely and appropriate support and assistance to all those who need it, today the seventh edition of the traditional event SPEECH4TEACH took place.

The online event entitled “TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH” was held on the ZOOM platform, organized by the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia and the Foundation for Educational and Cultural Initiatives “Step by Step” Speech4Teach project, as part of the activities of the Project “Education of the Lesser Ethnic Communities.”

During the event, the first of the planned three educational videos, Talking About Mental Health, which you can see below, was premiered, in which experts and practitioners give their views on the need for mental health and its importance for human, physical and social capital in the community.

The screening of the video was followed by a discussion where the present participants had the opportunity to ask questions to prof. Dr. Dimitar Bonevski, Prim. Dr. Mary Boskovska, prof. Dr. Aleksandra Karovska, prof. Dr. Ognen Spasovski, school psychologist Ana Poprizova and psychologist-psychotherapist Radmila Zivanovic, who appear as speakers in the video.

The event concluded that it is necessary to work together to make our schools inclusive and safe environments for learning and growth in which there is equal concern for the well-being and achievements of every child. Only in this way do we really invest in the future and build just and open societies.
