The Board of Directors of the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia decided to cooperate with five civil society organizations that will provide legal aid to citizens of the municipalities of Ohrid, Dojran, Karpoš, Želino and Prilep, for cases related to corruption and conflict of interest.
The civil society organizations with which FOSM will cooperate are the following:
- The Association “Izbor” (Strumica), through the project ” Strengthened Integrity Systems for Combating Corruption at the Local Level” in the amount of 434 dollars, will provide legal aid to the citizens of the municipality of Dojran;
- The Association for Legal Education and Transparency “STANICA P.E.T.” (Prilep) through the project “Legal education for fight against corruption!” in the amount of 600 dollars, will provide legal aid to the citizens of the municipality of Prilep;
- The Association “Multikultura” (Tetovo), through the project “For a municipality without corruption” in the amount of 575 dollars, will provide legal aid to the citizens of the municipality of Želino;
- The Association EcHO Educational-humanitarian organization (Stip), through the project “Legal strengthening of the citizens for fight against corruption and conflict of interests at the local level” in the amount of 600 dollars, will provide legal aid to the citizens of the municipality of Ohrid;
- The Coalition of Citizens Associations “All for Fair Trials“, through the project “Corruption? Not in my municipality! ” in the amount of 586 dollars, will provide legal aid to the citizens of the municipality of Karpoš.
CSOs will provide legal aid to citizens who have recognized corruption and conflict of interest; will participate in the promotion of the possibilities for providing legal aid in the respective municipality: they will inform and educate the citizens about the possibilities for reporting corruption and conflict of interests in the five municipalities Ohrid, Dojran, Želino, Karpoš and Prilep.
