SANTA ARGIROVA

President of the Executive Board

Ms Santa ARGIROVA graduated journalism at the Faculty of Law within the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje. In the period 1991 – 1996, she was the editor of the foreign affairs desk at MTV. Later, from March 1996 until March 1997, was engaged as the first secretary in the Department on Relations with Neighboring Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1997, she became editor of the foreign affairs desk at TV Telma and, in 2001, appeared as author, producer and anchor of the political talk show “20/20” aired at this television outlet. In the period 2002 – 2006, she was engaged as Chief of Cabinet to former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilinka Mitreva. In 2007 and 2008, she worked at the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs. From December 2008 until October 2014, she worked as editor of the foreign affairs desk at TV Alfa where, in the period 2011 – 2013, she created and anchored the political talk show “Pressing”. Prior to the last parliamentary elections held in 2016, she was the editor-in-chief of the current affairs program at MTV. Has written the books “Good Morning Jakov” and “Portrait from Dresden”. She speaks English, Greek, Serbian and Croatian.

NATAŠA GABER DAMJANOVSKA

Ms Natasa G. DAMJANOVSKA served as judge in the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Macedonia from October 2008 until October 2017. In the period April 1985 – October 2008, she worked at the Institute for Social, Political and Judicial Research in Skopje where she acquired the academic title of full professor in 2006. At this institute she taught subjects such as Political Decision-Making and Civil Society, and additionally taught Introduction to Politics, Comparative Political Systems, Elections and Human Rights, and Globalization and Global Policies at the American College in Skopje. In 1995, she completed her doctorate studies at the Institute for Social, Political and Judicial Research in Skopje. She is proficient in Greek and English, and has moderate language skills in French and Italian. Has authored numerous scholar and scientific works, strategic documents, evaluation reports, research studies and analyses, and was member of various working groups tasked to develop 2002 Law on Election of Representatives in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and 2004 Law on Local Elections, 2005 codification of the electoral legislation and 2007 amendments thereto, 2003 and 2008 amendments to the Law on Citizens’ Associations and Foundation, 2007 National Program of the State Anti-Corruption Commission, and 2005 Law on Prevention and Protection against All Forms of Discrimination. As of December 1, 2018, she is director of the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors of the Republic of North Macedonia.

MERITA MAKSUTI

Executive Board Member

Ms Merita MAKSUTI holds a B.A. in architecture from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, and an M.A. in urban planning from Rutgers University, Edward J. Bloustein School for Planning and Public Policy, New Jersey, USA, as Fulbright Alumni. She is also a certified energy efficacy auditor. Has worked for Mercy Corps as a project coordinator/project manager for reconstruction in post-conflict areas. Has working experience at UNDP Macedonia as project manager for small infrastructure projects through employment opportunities, and later as project manager/deputy project manager for infrastructure projects on a municipal level. In the period 2012-2014, she was the country director for the Project Harmony. From 2009, she is teaching assistant at the State University in Tetovo in the subjects Methods of Designing and Spatial Strategies, Designing Elements and Basics of Designing and Urban Planning. From 2014, she works as an architect at the designing bureau Arkitektus 8. As of February 2015, she is engaged at VеVе Group as program manager for infrastructure projects. She is one of the founders and active members of Eco Guerrilla Movement – Ecological Association, Tetovo.

SIMONA DUKOVSKA

Executive Board Member

Ms Simona DUKOVSKA has a degree in Mechanical engineering at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” Skopje. She has over 16 years of experience in Brand Strategy, Brand Positioning and Brand Management; Advertising & Creative Strategy, Campaign Management, Re-branding/positioning; Vast experience of maximizing the awareness of brand, products, and profitability of recognizable brands; Media strategy, buying and negotiations; Sponsorship and events, market research. She worked as Head of Marketing and Communications and Market Intelligence at VIP Operator from 2009 until 2015. She was Director of Marketing at TV Telma. Currently she is Co-head of Talent Embrace at Netcetera, Skopje. Speaks English, Italian and French.

GORDAN GEORGIEV

Executive Board Member

Mr Gordan GEORGIEV has been active in the civil sector for 20 years. Georgiev was Executive Director of Forum-CSRD, one of the leading think tanks in the Republic of Macedonia and Director of the Macedonian School of Politics, under the auspices of the Council of Europe and part of the Regional Network of 15 Schools of Political Studies from Eastern European countries. He was also engaged in projects implemented by the Centre for Research in International Relations (CERI) in Paris and Charles Leopold Mayer Foundation projects in Congo–Brazzaville and Congo–Kinshasa. He is an expert at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and has served as an independent consultant for the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). His expertise includes research and field projects related to democratic stabilization, reconciliation, inter-ethnic relations, reform and consolidation of political parties, regional security issues, reform of parliamentary practices, and decentralization. In the period 2009-2013, Georgiev was elected MP in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, chairing the parliamentary Committee on Culture. He holds BA and MSc in political science and international relations from the Paris Institute d’etudes politiques (IEP), an MA in European studies from King’s College London. In 2009, he completed the Harvard Executive Education Program, and in 2016 he earned a PhD title in political science, working on societal system theories and structures of power. At the moment, Georgiev is an associate professor at the Faculty of Law, FON University in Skopje.
