On 7 May 2021, starting at 11:00 AM on the ZOOM platform, Analytica Think Tank will present the findings of the “Analysis of the effect of Covid-19 on workers who are part of the informal economy and temporary workers, through proposed measures for their support “.
The analysis was prepared within the project “Response to the socio-economic effects of COVID-19 by supporting vulnerable groups of low-paid workers, workers who are part of the informal economy and temporary workers”, with financial support from the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia.
The research aimed to assess the scope of the informal economy and the number of people engaged in the informal sector, to determine the effect/consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on informal workers, to map and evaluate the effects of measures taken by central and local government and to create a basis for improving the existing measures/policies and creating a framework for greater resistance of this category of citizens to the consequences of similar crises in the future.
The event aims to open a process of dialogue between all relevant stakeholders, but above all to integrate local and central level authorities in order to amortize the negative effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, through a systematic approach in creating measures to deal with Covid-19, improving the existing measures/policies and creating a framework for greater resistance of this category of citizens to the consequences of similar crises in the future.
