Within the project “Education for the smaller ethnic communities” in the period from 6 to 20 November 2021, training was provided for teachers who teach in the Bosnian language from 2 project schools: Primary School Dituria Saraj and Primary School Rajko Žinzifov, Orizare, Veles, as well as several teachers who teach the elective subject Language and Culture of Bosniaks.

The purpose of the training was to strengthen the competencies of teachers to develop student’s skills in writing, reading, listening and speaking Bosnian. The training was realized online in three sessions (days) of four hours through a combination of lectures and practical work.

The focus of the lecture was to provide answers to theoretical questions related to spelling, grammar, stylistic norms of the Bosnian language, as well as to emphasize the importance of developing a culture of expression in children. The exercises practically worked on processing and adapting teaching texts from the Bosnian curriculum, but also from the popular culture. All participants received a set of materials that were used during the training.

Trainers were prof. Bernisa Puriš, associate professor at the Department of Bosnian Language and Culture at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, and Sandra Zlotrg, director of the Association of Language and Culture – Linguists of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
