164 teachers from schools where the teaching process is implemented in Macedonian, Turkish, Serbian or Bosnian language, which are part of FOSM’s project aimed at improving the quality of education of students from smaller communities, attended trainings for developing critical thinking among students and for quality pedagogical practice.

Through the training “By reading and writing to critical thinking” the subject teachers, via experiential learning or model classes, were introduced to methods of teaching that motivate the student to actively learn and critically think. With the training “Quality pedagogical practice of the 21st century”, that was intended for teachers from the same schools, the teachers were introduced to the principles for realization of contemporary teaching that put the student at the center of the process. The trainings were implemented in partnership with FOKIM Step by Step and in cooperation with the Directorate for Promotion of Community Education and were held from 24 to 27 June in Ohrid and Struga.

In addition, from 27 to 30 June in Ohrid, a group of teachers from different state schools that teach the subject “Language and culture” of Roma/Bosnians/Vlachs attended the training “By reading and writing to critical thinking”. With this training they will have the opportunity to introduce a novelty in the teaching of these optional subjects and to encourage the interest of many students to choose the appropriate subject.
