The number of inhabitants in the villages in the Republic of North Macedonia is declining, the depopulation and limited opportunities of the inhabitants of the rural areas are more evident every day, and the role of the rural woman for the survival of the villages and rural areas remains invisible and unrecognizable to the general public.

Rural women are powerful, strong and committed to community development, which in the face of numerous challenges are a driving force in food production, preserving tradition, combating climate change and sustainable rural development, reminding us that through their social and economic empowerment we will create social welfare, economic development, better quality of life in rural areas, as well as sustainable communities.
