The Foundation Open Society – Macedonia continues to actively support marginalized groups of citizens in conditions of the health crisis. In this regard, FOSM provided a donation in the form of humanitarian aid packages with hygiene products and supplements for vulnerable Roma families who are socially and economically directly affected by the health crisis. The total amount of the donation is $ 166,600.

In cooperation with the Red Cross of the City of Skopje, by the end of the year, 2,188 hygiene packages and supplements for 11,000 citizens will be distributed in Šuto Orizari, Prilep and Prilep region, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kumanovo, Delčevo, Vinica, the village of Crnik – Pehčevo, Zlokukjani, Vizbegovo, Strumica, Bitola, Veles, Kriva Palanka, Kočani and Probištip.

For the smooth running of this activity, the Red Cross in the field will cooperate with civil society organizations that are active and recognized in the Roma communities – Romano Chachipe, IRIZ, LIL, Skopje; Sonce, Tetovo; PET Station, Prilep; NRC – Kumanovo; NGO KHAM, Delčevo and HOPS, Skopje. We thank them for their selfless commitment.

We at the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia are committed to building a tolerant and inclusive society; open to the participation of all citizens equally. The support and participation of the Roma community in improving the conditions for access to education, health and legal services, but also in changing perceptions and attitudes towards Roma remains our focus.
