On 9 and 10 March, a joint workshop on integrity systems at the local level was held, attended by officials – members of the integrity teams from the municipalities of Zelino, Karpos, Dojran, Prilep and Ohrid.

The workshop was led by an expert team consisting of Ana Pavlovska-Daneva, Sabina Fakic, German Filkov and Konstantin Bitrakov. The participants discussed the potential challenges that may arise in the implementation of integrity plans, i.e. activities such as delegation of competencies, limitations of discretionary powers, further regulation of public procurement procedures, implementation of internal audit, etc.

Nuri Bajrami and Vladimir Georgiev, members of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption talked to the participants about the concept of integrity at the local level and ways to improve communication and cooperation between municipalities and the State Commission.

This workshop is part of the project “Strengthened Integrity Systems for Combating Corruption at the Local Level”, implemented by the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia, within the USAID Civic Engagement Project.
